Hiruni is a Legal Counsel (Employment) in New Zealand with strong experience advising clients across the full spectrum of employment matters. Her expertise includes drafting and reviewing employment agreements, 90-day trial periods, disciplinary processes, restructuring and redundancy, personal grievances, medical incapacity, workplace bullying and harassment, and independent contractor arrangements. She also advises on restraints of trade, policy compliance, and dispute resolution strategies.

Hiruni has worked with a wide range of private, government, and non-government employers, including those in education, aviation, oil and gas, retail, insurance, construction, engineering, and finance.

She is passionate about guiding employers through employment processes in a way that not only ensures legal compliance but also supports their commercial objectives.

Before joining Source, Hiruni worked at leading New Zealand law firms, specialising in Employment and Health and Safety. She has also held in-house roles with a large private tertiary education provider and a human resources consultancy firm.
